This wedding won many awards by us. (Yes, that’s a thing [: ) Kristen, you were radiant. Jarrod, the way you adore her is compelling. These two were so genuine and kind. Your support system was fun and inspiring. Your florals were a dream to photograph! Your ceremony was so touching and your reception was truly the biggest party we’ve ever witnessed. Christ, through you two, made countless cups overflow. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for trusting us to document this celebrated day, we’ll never forget it!

More of their story below! <3
After completing nursing school at Duke, Kristen moved to Houston to begin her career at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Jarrod, native to Houston, was home in his second year at Caldwell Companies. The matchmakers of the tale, David Towery and Lauren Brandom, set up a double date for an introduction. A late night spent bowling at Dave & Buster’s marked the first date for this couple-to-be.
The next group date, this time to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, was full of games, fried food & carnival rides. The two had a blast on this night, but they still did not know exactly what was brewing.
The third group date was initiated by Jarrod as he surprised Kristen at her front door to ask for her phone number, and invite her to another rodeo concert. They closed the fair down that night having more fun that they knew possible.
Just before dropping Kristen off Jarrod invited her to Brenham for a day of prayer and work that was to take place at Stillwaters Ranch for Outback the very next day. To Jarrod’s surprise Kristen committed to join him even though she would need to be up in four hours. Kristen met Jarrod the next morning as they drove to Brenham for their first mini-road trip. It was this day that Jarrod knew Kristen was special, and that she was a gift to make him a better man.
Jarrod asked Kristen if she would be his girlfriend on Easter, and with her response the official beginning was upon them. The next year was one of inconvenience the couple realized as Kristen worked night shifts, the two lived on separate sides of town, had different sets of friends, and commitments that often kept them apart. As they remained committed and determined during the challenges they knew there was more than a convenient relationship at hand. There was something worth fighting for.
A year after the official beginning came the day for Jarrod to invite Kristen to spend life together. After two months of coordinating the surprise another Brenham road trip was in order. Kristen thought she was taking Jarrod fishing at the ranch for his 27th birthday. The weather held off, fish were caught, and the evening unfolded as planned. What Kristen and Jarrod still reference as the most surreal moment in their life the next step of the journey had begun. As the newly engaged couple made their way up the hill they were greeted by their closest friends and family for a night of celebrating the engagement.
Kristen and Jarrod learn more about each other every day, and fall more in love. An 11-month engagement has been busy with work, graduate school, ministry, friend’s weddings, wedding planning, and preparing for the future together. To God be the glory for his indescribable sovereignty in working things together for the good of those who seek to love Him.
